In our evaluations of him this year especially at the Highland Shootout it is apparent he has really improved his game off the bounce. Handles have tightened up significantly and he was much more aggressive off the bounce. Mixed in a variety of runners, pull up mid-range jumpers, and acrobatic finishes at the cup. Also connected on 3-10 from beyond the three point arc. Got to the line at a nice clip. He had 28 points (10-23 FG), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
How has the season gone to date?
“It has gone good. We got off to a rough start and lost a few guys. We are getting back on our feet and playing together.”
The junior had a game during the first half of the season where he went for 50 points.
“It was a lot of fun. It felt like a normal game. I got off to a slow start and had a real good second and third quarter. My teammates were finding me and setting good screens.”
What is the latest with recruiting?
“I am hearing from a lot of the same people. Illinois recently offered. I am hearing more from them. I am hearing a lot from Kansas State, Xavier, some from St. Louis. A little from everybody.”
Kasubke said two schools are making him feel like a huge priority.
“Kansas State and Xavier are probably the ones recruiting me the hardest.”
Kansas State has been recruiting him for a while.
“I talk to Coach Lowery and Coach Weber texts me a lot and calls me too.”
Xavier is also making a strong push for him.
“Coach Steele he is the one recruiting me the hardest and the one I am talking to the most.”
Kasubke spoke about landing an offer recently from Illinois.
“It felt good. They have been recruiting me for a while. I talk to Coach Walker a lot and have a good relationship with him.”
