The class of 2020 guard says the team is responding to the personality of their new coach, and it shows by their results. The Bears, who are currently ranked #11 in our power rankings, have rattled off 12 wins in a row to start the season and are one of just four local teams who remain unbeaten. Reynolds believes this team has improved chemistry and will have the chance to do something not many expected them to do.
“I’m really looking forward to wining the IAC,” he said. “We haven’t really made it that far the past couple of years. This year that’s my biggest thing, to win the IAC.”
Everyone is cognizant of the impressive skill set that Reynolds displays offensively, but his defense is underrated. Over the summer with Takeover, his job was to be a pest defensively, pick up full court, and force the opposing team’s primary ball-handler to lose control. Perhaps generously listed at just 5-foot-6, Reynolds doesn’t fit the prototypical profile of a division one lead guard, but his game really speaks for itself. Ultimately we believe it will be hard for Patriot and Ivy league schools to ignore Reynolds, a confident and dynamic talent who has a 3.5 GPA. Columbia, Princeton, and Lehigh are among the schools who have reached out and are currently in contact with him.
What can he bring to a college program?
“Energy, an on court coach, and a great teammate who is coachable.”
