Continue ReadingI do not usually get to see a lot of the talented prospects from California that often but earlier this year I was able to see Prolific Prep out of California play as they came to Washington DC. One of the standouts on the heavily recruited Prolific Prep team was 2020 guard Nimari Burnett. He is known as a shooter but also has tremendous athleticism which has allows him to have tremendous bounce. Check this article out for a more breakdown of his game.
He is carrying a lot of momentum from the summer to this high school season, “It went very well, playing with “Team Why Not” was a great experience, learned a lot from good coaches and I have very good teammates, I had fun and it was really the time of my life.”
He is a prospect that definitely has a chance to make it to the highest level and when asked about player comparisons, he said, “I think it is a couple of a mixture of players to be honest with you. The way I play on the perimeter reminds me of Steph Curry, of course not on that level yet but and a little Kevin Durant because I have long arms and long limbs and I can shoot the midrange as well.”
Before he can even think about college or the NBA, he has certain goals that he would like to accomplish this high school season, “I am trying not to lose anymore, we are trying to go out and win and try to qualify for Geico Nationals and win that championship.”
He will have to focus on making a college decision at some point down the road and he said the whole recruitment process is going well, “It is going really well, a lot of colleges are keeping in contact with me. I am enjoying the process.”
When asked which schools are prioritizing him, he went on to say, “Stanford, Marquette, Arizona and Arizona State.”
