It seemed as if Skyridge was going to pull away early when Duncan Reid was scoring from all over the floor. Credit Woods Cross for taking it on the chin and continue to chip away.
3: Noticeable Intangibles
1.Watching Duncan Reid play was fantastic. Duncan plays with elusive quickness that enables him to get open off the ball or with the ball in his hands. Two impressive plays last night was watching him change speeds off the ball and use his screens to hit contested jumpers. Lastly his ability to drive to the basket and keep his dribble and shoot over smaller defenders was great. Woods Cross did a great job by being physical with him but he still was able to score 23 points. (D1)
2.Woods Cross has two quality players that can play at the next level. Tyler Roberts a 6’5 W/F has great vision and plays good defense. He was limited as he only scored 9 points but hauled in numerous rebounds and contested shots down low. Woods Cross is a different team when he is on the floor. (D2, NAIA, D3)
3.Jake Howe of Woods Cross has range. He hit 3-threes from deep as he racked up 19 points. Jake has really improved his moving without the basketball this season.if he improves his mid-range game and his ability to get to the basket he could hit that next level. (D2,NAIA, D3)
Recap

In the second half Woods Cross stepped up their defense and created a lot of turnovers that led to open layups. Trevon Snoody of Skyridge was held to 11 quiet points as the Wildcats got great minutes from Tucker Goodfelow.
Woods Cross had a fantastic game controlling the glass. They improve to 7-2 and will host two more games before region play.
Skyridge travels to Jordan next before region play gets underway.
