TWO STARS
Jaden Kreklow – 2019 – PG – New Glarus
A real joy to watch, Kreklow was outstanding, even in a loss. Always in total control, Kreklow has the green light to make something happen on every offensive possession. A crafty lead guard that changes pace at a high level, Kreklow just keeps defenders guessing all game long. He was effective against whatever defense was thrown at him and lived in the paint on Monday. Even in traffic, Kreklow generally makes the right decision with the basketball. He’s an excellent drive and dish guard who has a knack for drawing defenders. While he’s not the biggest, strongest, or fastest on the floor, Kreklow has always outperformed his measurables. The senior, who is drawing interest from UW-Platteville and UW-Oshkosh, finished with a team-high 21 points.
Isaac Lindsey – 2020 – SG – Mineral Point
Lindsey was in assassin mode all game long for the Pointers. Scoring a game-high 33 points, Lindsey’s shooting was lethal in the upset victory. New Glarus tried to face guard Lindsey or push him out way beyond the perimeter to take away his catch-and-shoot opportunities, but the junior sniper countered by taking a few extra dribbles to free himself off the bounce. Lindsey defeated tight coverage with ease, stopping on a dime, or creating space with step-back dribbles. A prospect that will be playing for high major offers this spring and summer, Lindsey continues to trend upwards in the state and in the Midwest.
TWO STANDOUTS
Brayden Dailey – 2021 – F – Mineral Point
Dailey probably had the the worst first half he played all season, yet Mineral Point still led 35-30 at the half. Once Dailey got going, it was all over. The sophomore forward exploded for 24 points, most of which came in the final period. Dailey may lack the prototypical strength and athleticism for his size, but he’s more athletic than he looks and covers ground quickly as a long strider. Dailey has the tools and touch to be a big time scorer. Dailey is comfortable from all three levels and can put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways. He’s a deadly 3-point shooter with unlimited range. He can take people off the dribble and pull-up from mid-range or attack in traffic and isn’t bothered by a hand in his face. We would expect that mid-major programs begin jumping on board here this spring/summer.
Trevor Gassman – 2019 – SF – New Glarus
The senior wing is just a warrior. With a solid blend of length and strength, Gassman is a warrior around the hoop. The 6-foot-1 senior plays bigger than his size and can finish through contact. Chipping in with 11 points, Gassman was effective at slashing to the rim and battling for second-chance opportunities. When there was a loose ball, Gassman was often the first to the floor to try and corral it.
