The atmosphere at Jordan High School was fantastic as students came out to support. They were not disappointed.
Jordan was once again lead by 2020 stud Dyson Koehler who had 22 points but the most important points came as time was running out in the game. What seemed to be a play gone wrong at the Jordan PG took the inbound and sprinted to the right wing. He was able to hand the ball off to Dyson with little room and finding himself some distance from the 3-point line, Dyson let the ball go. The high arching shot seem to freez time for a moment as the crowd, the players and coaches watched the ball on a straight line sail through the net.
Jordan wins 58-55
The entire gymnasium went berserk! Dyson ran around the gym as players and fans chased him down all while Corner Canyon players still shell shocked walked off the court.
Dyson has been playing lights out and in an earlier piece we wrote on him he mentioned his desire to win. It was on full display last night.
While Corner Canyon could only find 5 players that could score. The Beetdiggers had 8 players contribute in the scoring colum. Terryn Mosley had a nice 14 points for Jordan as well.
Toombs and Welling combined for 34 points which is usually enough to pull of a win but this years Region 7 has been brutal for everyone.
Corner Canyon will look to avenge their earlier loss to Brighton next. Both of these teams will be tough outs when it comes to state.
