Dezi Jones 5’9″ Hannibal (’19) – “Hannibal Buckets” was at it again on Saturday as he scored a game-high 33 points in the Pirates’ 67-64 victory over Victory Christian in the opening game on Saturday. He was selected Most Valuable Player of the game. Jones combines his quickness with his ability to get buckets at all three levels to become one of the most potent offensive players in the state.
Isiaih Mosley 6’6″ Rock Bridge (’19) – The talented wing was one of lone bright spots in the Bruins’ loss to a very talented Marian Catholic team from the Chicago area. Mosley scored a team-high 30 points and displayed his all-around offensive talents. He is a bucket from just about anywhere on the floor.
Jordan Nesbitt 6’6″ St. Louis Christian (’21) – The versatile wing player scored a team-high 22 points in the Cougars’ 72-58 victory over Monroe City. Nesbitt is a matchup problem for defenders with the size and strength to dominate in the post combined with his ability to take defenders off the dribble and knock down jumpers, especially from 15 to 17 feet. He was the Co-MVP of the game.
CE Talton 6’3″ Monroe City (’19) – The talented small school guard shared Co-MVP honors with Nesbitt after scoring a game-high 29 points to lead Monroe City. Talton is a nice three-level threat to get buckets with the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. He has good bounce on his pull up jumpers.
Nathan Schwartz 6’1″ Father Tolton (’20) – Schwartz scored a team-high 22 points in the Trailblazers loss to Quincy Notre Dame. He is a nice slashing guard who plays well in the transition game the ability to knock down an open 3-pointer to keep defenders honest.
