The 6-foot-1 guard is a sharpshooter who’s a capable playmaker for his team. He says spotting up is a strength, and he likes to D up, too.
“We really like to run and push the ball and I really like to shoot the 3-ball, so when we run like that I get a lot of open 3s, and that’s probably what I’m best at,” said Harris. “Also, driving to the hoop and being able to get everyone involved from that. And being everywhere on defense.
His off-hand and creating shots for himself off the ball are areas he feels need to improve before maybe taking his game to the next level.
“I need to work on ball-handling and then finishing left-handed, I’ve gotten a lot better this last summer. Also shooting off the dribble, and with my left hand. And I just need to keep working on those things to get ready for the next level,” said Harris.
As a junior at Wasatch, Harris has taken the reins as a main scorer and playmaker for the Wasps.
“This year, I’m used as a scorer and then to get others involved as well. And just being a hustle player and leader on defense and helping out in any way I can,” said Harris. “We’ve had a pretty good year, we’ve played some tough teams and played them pretty tight, so it’s been good.”
When his junior season is complete, Harris planning on playing with Utah Basketball Club 17U. And he’s hoping to see his recruitment ramp up then.
“I just like to get myself out there a little more. I’ve been in contact with some D2 and D3 schools, I’d really like to play D1,” said Harris. “Playing AAU and getting seen by different colleges, and just hustling and performing [is my plan for the offseason].”
