Averaging just a hair over 30 PPG over his last three games, all wins, Conitz is fresh off a 28-point effort in a win over Sickles on Saturday.
The 6’4″, 180-pounder says playing with some talented leaders last season helped him a lot. Current Oklahoma State freshman Duncan Demuth and 2019 guard Colin Sowada (transferred to Plant) suited up alongside Conitz in 2017-18.
“Playing with those guys helped me know what toughness was and how to be an all-around leader,” Conitz told Prep Hoops. “It made me more mature, a better player and teammate.”
He says this year he has a lot more confidence in himself and his overall game.
“Last year I was kind of a fourth option and now this year my teammates are really helping me step my game up,” he said.
No offers have come yet for the junior guard, but Conitz said he attended the Eckerd camp earlier in the summer.
He plans on playing for Team Speights this summer during the travel ball season.
Conitz says his ultimate goal is to play college ball as he plans on continuing to work hard and get there every day.
It has been a steady season so far for Conitz who has certainly carved out a name for himself thus far. On a tough-minded Seminole group, he’s quickly turning into a leader on a team that needed one with the departures of Demuth to college and Sowada to transfer.
