After the athletic 5-foot-10, 175-pound guard exploded for 44 points against Westview in the Les Schwab Invitational “The Eight” tournament, it’s clear that Sadi is a name to be remembered. The junior has been leading De La Salle North this season with his scoring and there’s no doubt his sights are set high.
“I’ve been feeling good and playing with a lot of confidence,” Sadi said. “My shots are going in and when my shots are going in, I’m unstoppable.”
At The Eight, Sadi’s game against Westview was one of the top performances of the year. Of his 44 points, he nailed 9-for-12 from three-point range and he also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to go along with three assists, three steals, and zero turnovers. In helping the Knights capture the consolation championship, he averaged 21 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting an insane 55 percent from beyond the arc. As impressive as he was that tournament and since, he remains dedicated to honing his craft.
“I feel good about my game but I still need to improve on some stuff and get better here and there,” Sadi said. “I’m working on better decision making and finding my teammates out there because they’ll find me if I get them the ball, I’ll get it right back. That’s how we play. It’s not about who’s scoring a lot, it’s about everybody.”
At this point in his development, Sadi is a bulldog of a guard who can not only use his strength and athleticism to drive and finish at the rim but also step out and sink the three. He understands that he’s undersized for a shooting guard, so developing point guard skills will definitely pay off for his future. He would like to play at the college level but given he’s just a junior he’s keeping his options wide open. “I’m hoping to get some attention soon,” Sadi said. “I’m just looking for any school that will let me play on scholarship.”
A long season run for De La Salle North would most certainly help Sadi reach his goals and he’s confident the Knights have a great chance of defending their 3A state title. “I think we’re capable of getting to that championship game,” Sadi said. “We’ll see what we can do from there.”
Sadi is not currently ranked in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings but you can be assured he will be included in the next update.
