At 6’2, Hunter has good size for a guard, prides himself on being a team player who knows when to shoot the ball and when to take control of the team when necessary.
Hunter ran with Next Level Hoops Academy (NLHA) during the offseason, competing in a host of tournaments and playing against various types of competition and skills.
“Summer ball got me ready for the high school season more. It definitely made me more competitive over the years playing in summer,” Hunter said. “Some of the areas that I worked on in the off season and in my free time are being able to create an open shot for myself whenever in need.”
Hunter is averaging 20 points per game this season as he has taken big strides in his personal game.
He says his current and former coaches have had the biggest impact on his basketball career to date.
“They have always been pushing me to work hard, and taught me to not take anything for granted,” says.
A fan of the Golden State Warriors, Hunter says he appreciates their ability to shoot the ball and unselfish style of play.
“One team that I really enjoy watching is the golden state warriors, mainly because of how many good shooters they have and how they move the ball from one side of the court to the other to get an open shot,” he said. “A specific player that I like watching is Kyrie Irving because of his crazy ball handling skills, and he is able to get himself a good look from anywhere on the court at any time of the game.”
Although he does not currently hold any offers, Hunter says he has drawn some interest from a few college programs.
