He spent the offseason competing for River City Hoops and says the experience helped him develop his game as he played alongside El Dorado’s Jarin Kohler and Derby’s Clayton Hood.
“I felt like it helped me with getting my shot right and learning how to play my role on the team,” he said. “I worked on my catch and shoot 3pt shot a lot and finishing at the rim strong with both hands not deferring at the rim and my pull up jumper off dribble hand offs and downhill drives.”
Heights is putting together a big season, opening 11-2 overall, while Bobbitt is averaging around 7 points per game.
“We are having a good start but we can be better. based on the players we have we can get to state if we are all locked in physically and mentally,” he says. “My main focus is defense because that’s what is gonna win the game.”
Bobbitt says his dad has had the biggest influence on his game to date.
“He always wanted me to go hard at everything including sports and school that’s why my work ethic is what it is as of today,” he said.
A fan of Buffalo’s Renaldo Segu, Bobbitt says the guard reminds him of his own game.
“He likes to work and I love watching him get hype on defense and bringing energy to the table during the games,” Bobbitt said. “My favorite nba player to watch is Lebron James because he is a leader and I want to be the something similar like that for Heights.”
Although he currently does not hold any offers, Bobbitt says he has drawn interest from Friends University.
