The 6-foot-1 guard could become a sought-after college hoops prospect before too long. He’s got the athleticism and high motor already, he’s currently working to refine his skill-set.
“I feel like I have pretty good defense and I like to crash the boards, my rebounding is pretty good. That’s pretty much it, I haven’t really played basketball that long, just two years, so I need more improvement on stuff,” said Scott.
“I need to improve on my dribbling for sure, and just gain more confidence. I have the skill-set, I just need to be more confident in myself.”
Scott had always been a football guy, and he made a decision to play basketball his sophomore season. He played with Sunrise Mountain that sophomore year, and played JV. He’s at Desert Pines this winter, making an impact with the varsity.
“The coach said I need some more experience before he plays me more, but when I do get in, my ability to play defense and pass the ball is what I like to to,” said Scott. “And I like to get the team hype and bring energy.”
Last spring and summer, Scott said he played some grassroots ball with a few different teams, but he’s looking for a permanent team to play with this spring and summer for 17U.
“This offseason, I want to play AAU, so I can continue on work on the basics and get better, because I want to play at the highest level of basketball,” said Scott. “And I want to start with the varsity my senior year.”
