Albert Mask IV is the type of player that makes you notice him. He’s a 6’2″ forward from Lansing Everett High School. Mask is having a solid senior season and is starting to make scouts turn their heads and watch.
Mask has an interesting skill set. He’s an excellent 3 point shooter. He can shoot off the dribble or the catch and releases the ball with confidence. Mask adds value to his game with his versatility. He can play either forward position even though he’s often outsized. Mask is so physical and aggressive that he plays a lot bigger than 6’2″. He’s an excellent rebounder and will fight for every loose ball. Mask is one of the most determined and gritty players around. He’ll be the first player to hit the floor or sacrifice his body to make a play. Mask is the loudest player on the floor, constantly talking on defense and instilling a sense of confidence in his teammates.
Albert Mask knows that he has to continue to improve. “This off season I was calling and texting my assistant coach early in the morning asking if we can get in the gym or get a run in,” he said. Mask is currently focused on improving his ball handling. This would add to his versatility and help him to play shooting guard at the next level. Mask takes pride in the fact that he loves to learn about the game and will stay up late to watch games and break down players.
Mask doesn’t want his basketball career to end after high school season. He wants to pick up an offer to play at the next level and get an education while playing the sport he loves. Mask is working to make his senior season at Lansing Everett a memorable one. He hopes to leave something to build around next year for the younger players. In the future, Mask would like to own his own business and possibly be a basketball coach.
Albert Mask understands the importance of an education and the role that basketball can play in obtaining it. “Nobody in my family had graduated from college. That’s big to me,” he said. Mask has solid influences in his life. “My grandpa stresses me that I got to go (to college). That’s a big motivator in my life. I want to make sure my mom and dad don’t have to go broke to send me to college.”
Mask has been impressive this season. He’s a high energy player who brings a lot of intangibles to his team. Division 3 and JUCO’S may want to take a look at his game very soon.
