EN: You’ve gone on a long run now, seven wins in a row and no losses in over a month. What’s been the key?
CW: We’ve just been playing together and believing in each other. Playing really hard on defense and just working hard in practice because we have one goal to keep winning.
Your team doesn’t have a ton of size. Greg Butler (Central’s shooting guard) took the jump-ball this game. What do you have to do to make up for that?
It’s a lot of help defense, that’s kind of it. And then we need to just play really good defense on the perimeter so that we don’t let them get into the paint.
You have a really senior-heavy team. How important is it for your group to have a successful season?
It’s everything to us, man. We’ve all put so much into this, and we all have played together for so long. So, it’s one last chance for us to get a ring.
As of today (Tuesday) you are ranked No. 9. How do you feel about that?
We always pay attention to that. We’re 15-4 now, so we definitely feel like we’re being underrated. But, we are using that as motivation.
How are you doing that?
It’s a chip on our shoulders now. We want to prove people wrong and show what Central can do.
