Justin: I noticed that Tray was off to a slower start so I just knew in my mind that I had to play well and help the team.
Q: You’re from Louisiana, so how do you feel about the energy and competition level of North Carolina basketball?
Justin: Well I heard that North Carolina was the ‘‘Hoop State’’, coming from Louisiana is hard to come out of for basketball so I just want to thank God for the opportunity.
Q: You guys got a big win against a good team, you guys came back from a deficit what do you feel like that’s going to do for the team for the remainder of the season?
Travion: It’s big for our confidence, early on in the season we went on a winning streak, then we went on a losing streak. So it feels good to be on a winning streak and being able to keep it alive and with Trinity beating us the first time at our place, we really wanted to get this win.
Justin: I feel like we have a good chance of winning a state championship if FiFi plays like that, and everybody on the team steps up the way we did tonight.
Q: It’s said that you’re one of the best kept secrets in the city, you have a laid back demeanor but once the game gets going you seem to turn it up a notch.
Justin: Yea, I like to stay quiet and humble, just play hard and help the team.
Q: So this was your 4th time in the regular season playing Trinity and I know you battled an ankle injury throughout this game. First half it seemed like you struggled to get things going but in the 2nd half you seemed more comfortable, what do you feel made the difference?
Travion: I fell on my ankle early in the game and just started that half off really rough, so at halftime I told my teammates that I felt like I owed them something, so I came out and played better in the 2nd half.
Q: Late in the 2nd half it seemed like you got in the zone somewhat, it seemed like you had a little more bounce in your step, did the ankle loosen up?
Travion: It was mainly adrenaline just pumping and I didn’t want to lose at all. It was win or go into overtime and I had to try and do something.
Q: So Talton hit the two free throws and coach called timeout , I know Coach drew that play up for you all was that the design for you to get it in that area of the court?
Travion: It was originally designed for the ball to just get thrown down the court so that I could get a layup but they were playing zone so I had to abort mission. It came to taking the tough shot or letting the time run out and going into overtime so I had to take the shot.
