Continue ReadingThe name Jeremy DowDell is a known name across the state as he plays with the reigning 5A State Champions the Olympus Titans.
Jeremy has been hitting 3-pointers since his freshman year at Olympus. He even had an impressive 18 point game with 4-three-pointers against Bingham that freshman year. Last season Jeremy hit 103 three-pointers which is the second most made all-time in a season. He is also on pace to break the all-time record for most 3-pointers made in a career. He has a career high of 39 points in a game. The list goes on in reference to that accolades that Jeremy has accumulated over the years.
Jeremy has nothing to prove but that doesn’t mean he isn’t motivated. “I don’t feel like I have to prove anything. I just want to win”. Jeremy has racked up 84 wins as a player and could reach the century mark by the end of the season if all goes according to play. “I just want to do what’s best for the team. It doesn’t matter who scores or anything, we just want to win.”
A lot of players across the state have coined Jeremy and his back court mate Rylan Jones the “Olympus Splash Brother”. They can both light it up from anywhere on the court.
Jeremy is your typical blue collar player. He is simply there to play hard and win. He didn’t even know he broke the All-Time scoring record at Olympus till after the game. That record was previously held by Shaun Green who went on to play at the University of Utah.
“Shaun texted me after the game and congratulated me and said he knew I would break his record the first time he saw me play”
Although the 6’4 shooting guard has achieved so much already he is still under recruited. Jeremy is arguably the best shooter in the state and he only holds offers from Air Force and Dixie.
He knows his play will help the recruiting process pick up. He is already hearing from Utah Valley University, Memphis, Rice, Boise State, Stanford and Southern Utah University.
The run and gun style of play that Jeremy and his teammates have will need to survive everyone gunning for them . “We just need to play our game and defend. When we make teams take tough shots, we are hard to beat, because offense takes care of itself. The reigning State Champions have a bulls-eye on their back. Jeremy will need to channel his favorite players Mamba Mentality to not prove a thing, but to simply win.
We like to give prospects a platform to speak their mind. We gave Jeremy the opportunity to say something to all those school interested in him and why they need to offer him and we couldn’t agree more. ” They are getting one of the best shooters in the country and a dang good scorer and leader”.
We want to wish Jeremy and his teammates good luck the rest of the way.
