Jake Sampson is a 6’3 SG that is underrated. The difference between Jake and other underrated players is that Jake knows exactly why college coaches might not know who he is. “Since I didn’t play a lot of varsity last year coaches didn’t know who I was, but I can shoot and the more success my team has the more recognition I will get.” Jake gets it. He plays for his team and anything that comes his way he will accept.
2020 Jake Sampson will be a great find for a college as he has a high ceiling. Great guards have come through Davis High School in the past few years.
Jake and his teammates made some noise this summer as they went out west to Southern California and beat the likes of Mater Dei and St. John Bosco. Jake re-calls being down by a lot at the half against St. John Bosco but him and his teammates caught fire and never looked back.

Davis opened up this years season with one of the toughest schedules we have seen. They’re coming off an easy win against Weber, but look forward to their rematch against Fremont.
When Jake is listening to Drake getting mentally ready for a game he can’t help to smile when teams come out in a zone because he knows that he will light them up. He’s been working with trainer Adam Egan to perfect his craft. He wants to continue to improve his ability to create for himself when needed.
Jake is an ideal prospect for small schools right now as he holds a 3.5 GPA. Jake is willing to play anywhere and looks forward to different opportunities that will open up as they present themselves. Jake will suit up for Mountain Stars this Spring.
The impressive aspect of Jake’s game is his ability to shoot with consistency from long range. He opened up the season with a 31 point performance against Bountiful. Jake could easily become a player that averages a double-double because he attacks when it comes to rebounding. He is also a willing passer that is at times a flaw that great shooters have is their inability to pass. Jake passes the ball well..
Jake will eventually make the list of great guards to come out of Davis High School. He has the work ethic and desire, but most importantly he plays the right way.
