Player of the Week: Week 6
- South Laurel Senior JJ Ramey won our Week 5 poll by over 2,000 votes and we come back this week with several strong nominees for the Player of the Week. Here are this week’s nominees:
- Central Hardin’s Jacob Hobbs – The Lipscomb bound Senior averaged 20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocks per game for the Bruins on their way to a 2-1 record for the week. The two wins were district wins over North Hardin and Elizabethtown.
- John Hardin’s Preston Murrell – The Bulldogs only had one game this week but Preston put up an impressive 19 points on 7-10 shooting and pulled down 8 rebounds. After a broken foot sidelined Murrell this summer, the 6’8 Junior is starting to find his groove again.
- Simon Kenton’s Kelly Niece – The Sophomore combo guard scored 27 points in a win against regional foe Walton-Verona before turning around the next night and pumping in 24 points on Saturday to beat Highlands.
- Lafayette’s Ray Surratt – The big man from Lexington led the Generals to a 2-0 week with wins over Bryan Station and Tates Creek. In those two games, he averaged 22.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game.
- Lexington Catholic’s Luke Wedding – In the Knights OT win over Lexington Christian, Wedding was 5-8 from 3 on his way to 17 points and then followed that Friday by shooting 7-12 from 3 for a team high 26 points in another win for Catholic.
- Bullitt Central’s Aiden Terry – The Senior point guard had 14 points and 5 rebounds against Meade County then followed that performance with 21 points and 2 rebounds in a win over North Hardin Saturday.
The poll is open until Noon Eastern Time on Friday! Vote as often as you’d like!
