Max Herber Dell Rapids St. Mary
The sophomore had a double-double in their 76-69 loss to Elkton-Lake Benton at the DVC Conference Tournament. Herber finished with a team-high 26 points and 10 rebounds. He took over the game in which the Cardinals leading scorer Connor Libis struggled from the field and was battling foul trouble the whole game.
Noah Freidel Tea Area
Freidel had had a streak of five straight double-doubles going into the game against Sioux Falls Christian. That streak was snapped in the game on Tuesday but the Titans still cruised to a 73-50 win over the No. 2 Chargers. The senior had 23 points and six rebounds including back-to-back threes that ignited the Titan faithful in the second half.
Paul Bruns Dakota Valley
The sophomore had a school record 40 points in a win over River Valley (IA) on Monday. Bruns has had himself a year, averaging nearly 30 points the past four games including a 33-point outburst against Sioux City North earlier this month.
Ryder Kirsch St. Thomas More
Kirsch stepped up big in a No. 1 vs. No. 3 matchup at the Hanson Classic in Mitchell. He had 23 points and 16 boards in their tightly contested 58-54 loss to No. 1 Tea Area. He was a huge part of them overcoming their early 20-2 deficit. Kirsch had 14 of the 24 points for the Cavaliers in the first half.
Jared Jaros Sioux Falls Lincoln
The senior is back with authority after an early-season injury scare that kept him out of the lineup for a short amount of games. In their win against Washington Thursday night Jaros had a team-high 27 points and the Patriots improved their record to 10-0. Jaros has been averaging just about 20 points over the last four games.
Mitchell Goodbary Sioux Falls Christian
The 6-foot-5 forward notched 14 points and hauled in 13 rebounds for his second double-double in the last three games, including an 18 point and 10 rebound effort against Vermillion. The Augustana football signee poured in 28 points against Class AA foe Watertown in the win.
