Lets take a look at some of the Top Performers from the 2019 class. Berkeley HS defeated Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS in Championship Game.
Ishan White – Berkeley HS (Moncks Corner) (pictured on front)
White was a monster inside the paint for the Stags. White 6’7 helped the Stags win the Championship and improve to (11-0). White finished dunk after dunk inside the paint vs Edisto HS. White finished with 26 points in the semifinals. White combo forward 4/3 type doesn’t his best work close to the basket on just activity alone.
Trevur Smalls – Berkeley HS (Moncks Corner)
Smalls 6’5 has a streaky shot on the perimeter. Smalls will look to stalk the baseline with his long and rangy frame. Smalls rebounds the ball very well from the wing position on the floor. Smalls and White play off one another very well for the Head Coach Joe Wallace.
Jamal Edmonson – Ashley Ridge HS
Edmonson didn’t start the game tonight for the Swamp Foxes. Edmonson has scored over 2,250 career points in his high school career. Edmonson has signed to play at Francis Marion University (SC) (NCAA D2) next season. Edmonson will reunite with former Head Coach Brad Dobbels who is now on staff at Francis Marion University.
Jalen Williams – Ashley Ridge HS
Williams is back in the Palmetto State after playing the past 3 years in New York at Our Savior New American. Williams played his 8th grade season at Pinewood Prep before making the move up north. Williams came back this August to the Palmetto State and enrolled at Ashley Ridge.
Williams has GREAT COURT VISION on the floor. Williams got the ball into the lane and found the open man all night long. Williams is shifty with the ball and makes his teammates happy with his deliverance. Williams is very crafty with the ball.
Marlow Gilmore – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses)
Gilmore is like a half-time entertainment show at times with his freakish athleticism. Gilmore scored 22 points in a loss to Ashley Ridge HS today. Gilmore currently has 1,865 career points for the Trojans. Gilmore a left-handed small forward really excels in the open floor transition game.
Rashamel Butler – Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS
Butler is the older of the two brothers. Rashamel has looked to attack the basket again this season after settling for jump shots this summer. Butler’s numbers our down this season with a addition of Ny’Gel Boozer adding another scoring option to the Jaguars roster. Butler left-handed wing is stat sheet stuffer at the end of the day.
Devin Butler – Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS
Devin is averaging 20.8 ppg this season for the Jaguars. Butler knocked down some three pointers while playing good on the ball defense. Devin is the younger of the 2 brothers and skipped a grade when they were younger.
