Continue ReadingNew Life Christian and Freedom Christian had previously matched up in November at Freedom, with the Patriots getting the win on that night. On Wednesday, the teams met again, this time at New Life Christian. The Monarchs got out to a lead in the first half, with Freedom making a run late in the 2nd half to cut the lead but New Life would prevail, getting the win 62-53.
NLCA 2020 Wing Reggie Raynor: The aggression and intensity that he played with on this occasion is something that we would love to see from him on a nightly basis. He got to the basket at a high rate and he took his frustrations out on the rim with some monster dunks, he was active on the boards rebounding the ball and would lead all scorers with 21 points on the night.
Freedom Christian 2020 Guard Ambaka Le Gregam: There is a lot to like about what he brings to a team and possibly a program in the future. He can break down a defender using his ball handling skills and first step, or pull up for a jump shot with his shooting ability. Remaining aggressive throughout is the next step for him, he has spurts but is more dangerous when he constantly attacks.
NLCA 2020 Guard Reggie Walton: Walton has had an up and down season so far but this performance seemed like more of the old him that we saw throughout last season. He knocked down some shots, showed some intensity on the defensive end of the floor and didn’t settle often, finished with 15 points.
Freedom Christian 2019 Guard Thomas Miles: Was one of the key contributors for his team down the stretch as they made a final run. Getting the team into their sets, keeping his turnovers low but forcing the opposition into turnovers is something that he does consistently. Has picked up some interest from JUCO programs, finished with 8 points on the night.
NLCA 2020 Guard Phil Martin: If you don’t get a hand up early, you can go ahead and count the bucket for Martin. He can shoot the ball at a high level, although he didn’t have his best day shooting wise, he did a nice job of picking his spots and moving without the ball.
Freedom Christian 2019 Forward Dusan Dordevic: One of the better performers for FCA, he went for 13 points and pulled down some rebounds as well. He is a Euro style big so he can shoot the ball fairly well, does a nice job moving without the ball but doesn’t seem to be opposed to mixing it up in the paint.
NCLA 2019 Forward/Center Jalen Love: You can’t measure his impact on the game just by his stats, he was solid on the boards and did a nice job of defending without fouling. JUCO programs have been watching and tracking so far.
