It’s impressive to see these young athletes keep so hard and perform so well on a nightly basis. There are several players that developed a lot of momentum through their holiday tournament performances. During the first week of January, there has been no drop off.
De’Marquiese Miles (Lee-Montgomery): Miles is on a hot streak right now. Duke finished with 26 points and 6 assists to help Lee get an area win. Miles was also a key defensive player in the matchup.
Brandon Green (Phillips): Green’s play has turned the heads of many. The 2021 prospect lit up the nets last night for 28 points. He also had 6 boards and 6 assists in his team’s loss.
Devin Ervin (Kingwood Christian): Ervin was one of the best players on the floor last night. He shot the bell and was relentless on the glass. Devin finished with 25 and 17 in his team’s win.
Miles Clay (Kingwood Christian): Clay also shined for Kingwood last night. Miles did it all and stuffed the stat sheet for the lions. Clay finished with 14-6-6.
Kam Harris (Bessemer City): Harris continues to lead his team and put up big time numbers. Kam finished with 22 points and 6 rebounds as Bessemer City beat a tough Briarwood team.
Thad Williams (Bessemer City): Thad also impressed last night against Briarwood. Williams controlled tempo and finished with 19 points and 7 assists.
Martavius Payton (Georgiana): Payton got back on the court and nothing changed. He has been one of the most consistent forwards all season. Payton finished with 26 points and 12 boards. He also had 3 blocks.
Taye Fields (Opelika): Fields willed his team to a victory last night. The 6’2 guard put up 17 points and grabbed 14 boards. Tay was also a critical defensive piece last night.
Roc Taylor (Oxford): Taylor is one of the most physical players every time he is on the court. Roc uses his size and strength to take advantage of his matchups. Taylor finished with 16 points, 12 boards, and 3 steals in Oxford’s win.
