For high school basketball fans in Michigan, our New Years Resolutions can be very simple: SEE THESE PROSPECTS!
Seniors
Julian Dozier (5’10, PG, UD Jesuit)
Dozier has come back to Michigan and will quickly insert himself among the top players in the state. He is a phenomenal ball hander and is explosive off the dribble. Dozier is slippery in the lane and can finish at the bucket or dish the ball off for the assist.
Charles Anderson-Louie (6’4″, SG, Warren Woods Tower)
Anderson-Louie was limited over grassroots season due to injury, but he’s back and ready to make a statement. He’s a strong and physical guard who can bulldog his way to the bucket. Anderson-Louie is a very good defender who will see his stock rise as the season goes along.
Juniors
Carlos Johnson (6’7″, SF, Benton Harbor)
Johnson is an elite talent on a national scale. There might not be a more well rounded and diverse talent in the state. Johnson can do everything, and do it all on an elite level. He’s a walking double-double. Johnson is the type of player we may see at the highest level someday.
Curtis Jackson (5’11”, PG, Harper Woods)
Jackson is in the midst of a breakout season. He is proving to be one of the more dynamic and explosive lead guards in the class of 2020. Jackson can put the ball on the floor and break pressure, create for himself, and draw defenders to open the floor for his teammates.
Sophomores
Legend Geeter (6’7″, F, River Rouge)
Geeter is, quite simply, a special player. He can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim as well as battle in the paint. Geeter is, in typical River Rouge style, an elite defender. He can shut down an opponent on the perimeter and in the paint.
Andrel Anthony Jr. (6’2″, SG, East Lansing)
Anthony is one of purest athletes in Michigan in the class of 2021. He can flat out score, shooting from 3 with no limits on his range. Anthony can use his athleticism in the open floor on offense. He is a solid defender who uses good footwork to stay in front of the ball handler.
Freshmen
Emoni Bates (6’8″, G/F, Ypsilanti Lincoln)
Bates is a unique prospect. Kids with this much talent aren’t seen very often. Bates is considered the top prospect in the country in the class of 2022. He is long and athletic, and can play above the rim. Bates can shoot from anywhere on the floor.
JaVaughn Hannah (6’4″, SG, Mt. Clemens)
Hannah has exploded on the high school scene in Michigan. He has an incredibly diverse game for a freshman. Hannah has scored in bunches, putting up 30+ point games. Hannah can score from all 3 levels, and with continued development, looks like a Division 1 prospect.
