Here is a look at six intriguing prospects from the game.
Jack Cooper (Jesuit)
There wasn’t a better shooter than 2019 forward Jack Cooper in this game. He helped Jesuit take its first lead in the third quarter at the 1:09 mark to move ahead 32-30 with a 3-pointer. The Tigers earned two free throws from Cooper with 16.5 seconds left in overtime as Jesuit went ahead by three to hold on. Cooper had 16 points in the game and it seemed as if each shot he made was bigger than the previous one.
Reagan Weiss (Plant)
Scoring 11 points for Plant, 2020 forward Reagan Weiss had a chance to win the game in regulation with a long jumper, but couldn’t connect. The junior wing was active all night long, rarely coming out and hitting big jumpers for the Panthers. Weiss was focused from the start.
Alex Orr (Jesuit)
2019 guard Alex Orr had 12 points in this game. As the game went on, Orr’s play picked up and he was a key energy setter for the Tigers. He connected on a 3-pointer from the top of the circle in the second half that kept his team ahead for a bit. Orr is scrappy on the boards and has really good feet and feel for the game.
Bobby Gough (Plant)
There were opportunities in crunch time on feeds to Bobby Gough and although he wasn’t perfect, the 2019 forward made some critical plays with a team-best 14 points. Gough was tough all night long in the paint and was running sets to a tee for his side. He’s a very underrated and smart kid.
Andrew Dansoh (Jesuit)
A lengthy and fundamental high school forward, 2019 Jesuit starter Andrew Dansoh wasn’t afraid to back down Plant defenders in this game. The senior had some big buckets in the fourth quarter that paced the floor and it was nice to see his aggressiveness.
Collin Sowada (Plant)
A flashy and quick twitch point guard, Collin Sowada put his body on the line down the stretch for tough buckets and critical trips to the free throw line. His high IQ passing helps his side often and he’s able to change speeds with slowing down the tempo in set plays and pushing it as well.
Logan Morrissey (Plant)
Only four points came on the night for 2019 Air Force commit Logan Morrissey. However, the senior was electric early on, catching an alley-oop on the very first play of the game. Morrissey was impressive on defense per usual and his passing was good. Jesuit did a nice job of double teaming him for much of the game.
