OCC Standings:
1. Mansfield Senior 10-2 (6-1)
Despite their loss to Lexington, Mansfield Senior sits atop the conference by a half game. The Tygers only other loss is to a really tough Dublin Coffman team. The Tygers rely heavily on lead guard, Quan Hillory. Hillory is a complete guard who can produce, and score it for Mansfield. A well coached team, the Tygers play a physical brand of basketball. With a decently deep team, Mansfield Senior is well balanced. The conference should come down to that Mansfield-Lexington rematch.
2. Lexington 10-3 (5-1)
Once again off to another strong start are the minutemen. After making it to Columbus last year, Lexington is looking to do the same. Ohio State football commit Cade Stover is the work horse behind the Minutemen’s success. The big man has a polished inside game, that works heavily in their offense. With already beating Mansfield Senior once, they hold the would be tiebreaker, with another matchup on the horizon. It should be interesting to see how the two teams battle it out to the finish.
3. Ashland 7-5 (5-2)
Having seen Ashland play once this year, they were pretty impressive. Behind Senior duo Garrett Denbow and Klejhan Randleman, the Arrows are right there in the battle. At 5-2 in conference play, Ashland is still in the hunt. A well balanced starting five that has multiple producers, the Arrows can put up some offense. With still a decently tough schedule remaining, it will be interesting how the season fares for Ashland.
4. Wooster 5-6 (3-2)
With the best win to date over a 9-3 Perry team in overtime, Wooster has the team to compete in the Ohio Cardinal Conference. Also defeating Mt. Vernon, and a close loss to Ashland, leaves them sitting at fourth in the league standings. With over a month still to go, Wooster will look to cash in on their league rematches. In fourth place now, but, a couple big wins could easily help Wooster climb the rope to be right there
