Player Recaps
PrepHoops Texas Player of the Game
Joseph Venzant / 6’3” / Guard / 2021 / Midland Christian
Venzant is a talented young prospect that is a good athlete and has nice skill. Venzant displayed the ability to attack the lane and finish over and around defenders. Joseph proved to me that he is worthy of his top 25 player in the sophomore state rankings.
Chris Brazzell / 5’9” / Guard / 2022 / Midland Christian
Brazzell was very solid and under control with the ball in his hands versus Liberty Christian. He hit some timely shots that helped his Midland squad secure the win.
Skylar McCurry / 5’11” / Guard / Liberty Christian / 2021
McCurry plays the game composed and doesn’t allow people to speed him up when he’s at the point guard position. McCurry is an unselfish player that makes solid passes that leads to scoring opportunities for his teammates.
Matthew Grigg / 6’1” / Guard / Liberty Christian / 2021
Grigg is a good shooter that can get hot from beyond the arc. Grigg showed toughness by finishing plays around the basket for and 1 opportunities. He also helped his team on the glass which was very important since they lack a true big man.
