Ashton Parker – Northwestern HS (Rock Hill)
Parker 6’5 continues to impress us here at Prep Hoops. Parker was just 5’7 as a freshman and we first saw Parker this summer with the Charlotte Dragons. Parker still has his best basketball in front of him. Parker is extremely quick off the floor and has great instincts in blocking shots. Parker has a long and rangy body and really excels in transition.
Zay Martin – Northwestern HS (Rock Hill) (pictured on front)
Martin was named game MVP for the Trojans with his 22 points and 4 three pointers made.. Martin is averaging 21.1 ppg this season for the Trojans. Martin just finds a way to score the ball from mid-range or on the perimeter. Martin recently went 1,000 points and now has 1,023 career points.
Zuric Harvey – Northwestern HS (Rock Hill)
Harvey 5’8 left-handed point guard is set to play at Pfeiffer (NC) next season according to Trojans Head Coach John Bramlett. Harvey is the table setter for the Trojans offense.
Shaman Alston – Nation Ford HS (Fort Mill)
Alston recently committed to Wingate (NC) (NCAA D2). Alston came to life in the 2nd the half for the Falcons. Alston 6’4 has the ability to score the ball at all 3 levels on the floor. Alston was named MVP in the victory over Brookland Cayce with 15 points.
Malik Bryant – Nation Ford HS (Fort Mill)
Bryant really has the ability to attack the basket from anywhere on the floor. Bryant is best suited from 13-15 feet for the Falcons. Bryant 6’2 a combo guard led the Falcons with 17 points.
Khydarius Smith – Nation Ford HS (Fort Mill)
Smith a USC-Upstate signee left the game early midway through the 2nd quarter with a ankle injury. Smith left-handed forward can defend out on the perimeter and is very versatile. Smith left the game with 7 points and 4 blocks.
Hezikiah Massey – Clover HS
Massey 6’2 was named MVP for the Blue Eagles in the win over Chesnee HS. Massey left-handed guard plays at such a easy pace and demeanor on the floor. Massey connected on several pull-up jumpers in transition and plays the game extremely unselfish. Massey could look to go the football route with offers from Presbyterian (SC) and Limestone (SC) on the table.. Massey recorded 52 receptions – 668 yards this past season.
Robert Johnson – Eau Claire HS (Columbia)
Johnson 6’3 plays out on island at times with not much of a supporting cast. Former teammate Asanti Price is now at Keenan HS. Johnson has to do it all for the Shamrocks and believe me he tries his best. Johnson a big guard has the ability to create his own shot or knock down perimeter jumpers. Johnson finished with 21 points in loss to Northwestern HS.
Desmond Tate – Chesnee HS
Tate finds ways to score the ball for the Eagles. Tate likes to use a nice pull-up jumper in transition. Tate finished with 18 points in a loss to Clover HS. Tate currently has 968 career points.
Jarrod Kelly – Chapin HS
Kelly 6’2 played in the paint and stayed in the paint. Kelly recorded 25 points in a tough loss to York Comprehensive HS. Kelly hits the glass on both ends and at the end of the day he knows what he is and that’s a undersized post player. Kelly was efficient in the paint and worked from block to block at times to get the ball.
William Ross – Fort Mill HS
Ross is a absolute glue guy for this Yellow Jackets team. Ross was always in the right place on the floor or on the floor for a loose ball. Ross a left-handed guard works the corners for his shot.
