Dominiq Penn (6’1 / PG / Dublin Coffman): Many know Dominiq Penn as Scoonie’s son, but in his own right Dom is a really good player. Seeing him last week, the 6’1 lead guard makes the right player time after time. A scorer from anywhere on the court, Penn can blow by or pull up from deep. With a 36 point performance to start the season against Mansfield Senior, Penn showed he’s one of the best scoring guards around. Averaging almost 20 points a game on the season. One of the top 2020 prospects in Ohio many high majors are keeping an eye on the Coffman stud.
Matt Allocco (6’4 / PG / Hilliard Bradley): One of the smartest players I have watched this year, Allocco is another division one caliber guard. With the size to finish inside, and a nice post game to add to his efficient scoring tools. Bradley’s lead guard does a great job of making his teammates better. Picking up some of the slack after 2021 Jack Pugh went down with an injury, Allocco is still leading Hilliard Bradley as one of the best around. A dominant 28 point performance against Walnut Ridge impressed many. The lengthy guard is one to watch as the season progresses.
Von Cameron Davis (6’5 / F / Walnut Ridge): Starting the season off at a historic rate, Von Cameron Davis is still averaging about 30 points a game. A double-double machine night in and night out, Davis has a great feel for the game inside. A smooth touch and good strength to finish through defenses. Progressing on the range will take the junior City League standout to another level, which is coming. Holding offers from multiple Division Ones colleges. Expect that number to go up
Otto Kuhns (6’3 / G / Bloom-Carroll): Having seen Otto on the gridiron and hardwood, he’s a serious two-sport athlete. The quarterback is a high scoring guard for the Bulldogs. Averaging 24 a game, including a huge 39 point game against Hamilton Township. Kuhn’s is a scorer that can fill it up in a hurry, from different levels. Also no slouch on defense, Otto is a must watch in both sports.
Isaiah Alsip (6’1 / G / Galion): The leading scorer in the MOAC at 20 a contest, including multiple 40+ performances in his prep career, Alsip is a high volume scorer. Quickness and handle to get inside and finish with efficiency. Also averaging three steals a game, Isaiah has a knack for on-ball defense. The tiger guard gets his teammates involved a decent level, and has excellent North-South speed. An All-State Wide Receiver on the turf, is another two-sport athlete to keep an eye on.
