#1 71st HS (15-3)
They currently have 3 losses but all have come to teams that are outside of the county,Pinecrest and Richmond County are the only teams that the Falcons have lost to. Senior Forward Brion Mclaurin has continued to keep up his stellar play at 18 PPG and 10 RPG, while Senior Wing Tre Bell and Senior Guard Demauriea Nickleson have also been solid. Bell is a player that has improved in his performance in a major way since last season and has some small colleges as well as JUCO programs on him.
#2 Westover (13-4)
The Wolverines hold down the 2nd spot by a very slight margin, their performance against a tough opponent in Greene Central only helped their case as they took a recent loss to Pine Forest. However we must remember that Westover got the win at Pine Forest earlier this season so the team essentially split. Westover gets things done by committee but their best prospect is 2020 Forward Traymond Willis Shaw who is a player D1 programs should be tracking right now.
#3 Pine Forest (12-5)
The Trojans are working climbing their way up the rankings as they knocked off the #2 team recently and will look to continue to keep up their level of play. Senior Forward Miles Ray (17PPG) is the headliner of the squad as he is a high flying player that can throw down a highlight dunk at any given moment. He picked up quite a bit of JUCO interest and will be one that will only raise his stock if he continues to play well.
#4 Jack Britt (11-7)
Their record may not suggest it but the Bucs are playing some very good basketball as of late. They knocked off one of the top teams in the area with a recent win over Pinecrest HS, while taking the #1 ranked 71st squad to the wire with a 2 point loss. Britt is a team that we feel can only get better as the season goes on and could be a scary team during conference tournament time.
#5 Terry Sanford (12-5)
This next month will be huge for the Bulldogs as they will have an opportunity to play the #2 and #3 ranked team in the county. With wins in those matchups they would see definitely see a raise in their ranking, but looking at the big picture, they are in a great place program wise. They have a very few amount of seniors with the main contributions coming from juniors such as Jay Hickman (14 PPG) and Yates Johnson (13 PPG & 7RPG). The Freshman Davis Molnar, will be one to keep a close eye on as he showing flashes of how special he can be.
#6 Cape Fear (10-6) 7. Grays Creek (8-10), 8. EE Smith (5-13) 9.Southview (2-15), 10.Douglas Byrd (2-14)
