The Bucs, who were playing without Mount Olive signee Calvin Washington due to injury, went back and forth with New Hanover but New Hanover would eventually get the win 56-52.
- New Hanover HS Senior Guard Jalen Anderson is a bucket getter! There are certain players that you put the ball in their hands, and tell them to go get you some points. Jalen is one of those guys, he has a gift for breaking down his man, scoring the ball in bunches and even showed some solid defensive tools. Finished with 22 Points on the day, has picked up some interest from various JUCO programs so far.
- Jack Britt Junior Langston Davis Has a chance to be a good prospect! He still has some work to do and we would love to see him be more aggressive but overall he has a nice amount of potential. He led his team in scoring with 16 Points on the day and about 6’3-6’4 with nice athleticism and wingspan you can see why he is an intriguing prospect.
- New Hanover Freshman Guard Maleec Myers is one to keep an eye on! His end to end speed is simply impressive. He displayed this while pushing the ball out into transition, and blowing past his defender on quite a few occasions. He’s small in height but plays the game with a lot of heart and toughness, keep a close eye on him over these next four years.
- Jack Britt Senior Guard Kean Keys was a nice spark plug for his team! Whenever you have a main player like Calvin Washington out, you need to have other players step up and that’s what we got from keys. He knocked down some midrange shots, defended at a decent rate and provided some decent energy for his team.
- New Hanover HS Senior Guard Jahiem Marshall is a True PG! In this day and age we see a ton of Point Guards that look to score the ball first and are not necessarily the best facilitators. Well Jahiem takes a different approach to the game, he looks to get everybody involved and made quite a few impressive passes to teammate. He does a nice job of keeping his head up after breaking down his man and make the correct reads for the easiest play possible.
