Iowa’s Player of the Week Poll (8)
Harris Hoffman (Cascade, Western Dubuque)
In two wins last week, Hoffman showed why he was a guy capable of being named the Class 3A all-tourney team captain last March at the state tournament. In a win over North Cedar he put together one of the finer shooting performances we’ve ever seen, going 12-13 from the floor and 5-5 from deep, he finished that one with 30 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. In a win against Wilton, the senior guard went for 20 points (he was 4-7 from deep), seven assists, six rebounds and two steals.
Nathan Keck (Kingsley-Pierson)
Kingsley-Pierson won both of its games last week, and is now on a six-game win streak. Nathan Keck turned it on big last week in two more wins. The 6-foot-1 senior averaged 23 points on 58 percent shooting (56% 3FG), 10 rebounds, four steals and 2.5 assists in wins over Hinton and Ridge View.
Logan Wolf (Cedar Falls)
The Northern Iowa football and basketball recruit has been a model of consistency and efficiency this season for the No. 7 Tigers, last week he was again a consistent scorer and distributor and he was especially efficient. Cedar Falls notched two more wins, against Waterloo East and Iowa City High, Wolf averaged 17 points on a sterling 78 percent shooting, seven assists, plus 1.5 blocks and steals in the wins.
Easton Darling (Winterset)
Darling’s Winterset Huskies picked up a pair of wins last week, and improved to 8-5 on the season. He was doing a little bit of everything to help his team to victory, and averaged 23 points 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.5 steals against Creston and in a huge win at Carroll.
Keegan Murray (Cedar Rapids Prairie)
The Murray brothers, Keegan and Kris, are both enjoying massively successful senior seasons for Prairie, and last week they were both great again, Keegan especially. Against Wahlert he went for 27 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. The real impressive game was later in the week against Cedar Rapids Jefferson, when Keegan scored 26 points on 10-13 shooting, he was 5-6 from deep and added seven rebounds and five assists.
