Iowa’s Player of the Week Poll (7)
Cade Bleeker (Sioux Center)
The crown jewel of Bleeker’s week (and season) was a 45 point outburst in a Warriors win over Unity Christian last Thursday, he added 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in that W. In three Sioux Center wins last week, the 6’5 guard averaged 25 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals.
Issa Samake (Grand View Christian)
Samake is having a huge season for the Thunder, and he was especially dominant last week in three more wins. GVC improved to 14-1 on the season last week behind 14.3 points, 15.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.0 blocks per game from the 6-foot-7 Drake recruit.
Noah Beck (BGM)
The small but extremely effective point guard was a stat-stuffer last week, filling it up with both offensive and defensive categories. In a Bears win over North Mahaska he went for 17 points, seven assists, five steals and four rebounds. Against Keota, Beck went for 17 points, 13 assists, nine rebounds and eight steals.
Bowen Born (Norwalk)
One of the most skilled players in Iowa, Born’s offensive prowess was on full display last week in two Norwalk wins. Against Carlisle, the 5-foot-10 point guard dropped a cool 35 and canned five 3s, he added four steals for good measure. Against Indianola, he bettered that performance, going for 38 points and canning seven 3s.
Willie Guy (Cedar Rapids Jefferson)
Guy helped the J-Hawks to two wins last week and nailed a game-winner against 3A power Oskaloosa in the process. The 5-foot-10 senior scored 28 points in the dramatic win over the Indians, he was 6-7 from beyond the arc. In the wins last week, Guy averaged 21 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals.
