After the first quarter, the Huskies (5-4) led 15-10, by halftime, though, the Blue Jays (5-5) had taken the lead, 32-29. Four second quarter 3s, two by Mason Storey and two by Jalen Kruse helped spur the big quarter for B-F.
The second quarter momentum never wacered for Bondurant-Farrar, which won the third quarter and took a seven point lead in to fourth.
Again, the Blue Jays played well in the final quarter, and pushed the lead to as much as 11 points more than once. When Winterset junior Easton Darling put in a tough bucket plus got fouled, the lead had been cut to 57-52 with 1:34 left. Darling would miss the free-throw, though, and the Blue Jays would cruise from there, thanks in large part to some clutch free-throw shooting.
Darling led all scorers with 19 points, his teammate Casey Kleemeier added 16 in the loss. Bondurant-Farrar was led by Mason Storey’s 15 points, Marquis George-Townes and Jordan Collins chipped in with 14 each.

The Prospects
Marquis George-Townes, 6’2, 2020 F (BF)
We came away very impressed with the versatile, slashing forward. Last spring we saw him play with Kingdom Hoops and thought then that he could be an impact player with the Blue Jays this season, he is. George-Towns came off the bench as the sixth-man and made an immediate impact, he was attacking the rim and using his length to score over defenders well. His mid-range looked good and he even flashed a nice Euro-step to get to the rim and score. A true versatile threat, George-Towns is a solid player for the Jays.
Easton Darling, 6′ G, 2020 (Winterset)
The best college prospect on the floor, Darling didn’t have his best game tonight, but still had moments of brilliance. He’s got an array of offensive moves that he was flashing throughout, including a James Harden step back 3-ball in the first half. He’s an athlete with a good vertical and is quick defensively.
Casey Kleemeier, 5’10 G, 2019 (Winterset)
A heady and wily senior, there’s really not much that Kleemeier wasn’t doing on Tuesday night. His best moment was his steal under the basket and then immediate 40 yard pass ahead for the assist. He hit three 3s on the night and was scoring some off the bounce.
Mason Storey, 5’11 G, 2019 (BF)
After a slow start, Storey got going in a big way late. He scored all 15 of his points after the first quarter, and it wasn’t because he was missing shots, but because he was selective with his shots. He’s a skilled and savvy veteran guard with a nice stroke from deep (he hit three 3s).
Jordan Collins, 6’1 F, 2019 (BF)
He’s the junkyard dog for the Blue Jays; a gritty, athletic and versatile forward who was rebounding and scoring at the rim when the team needed it most. He’s a slasher, all of his buckets came at or near the rim. And defensively, he’s the team’s leading shot-blocker.
Jalen Kruse, 5’10 G, 2019 (BF)
A skilled shooter, when Kruse connected on his jumpers the ball barely grazed the net. His 3-point shot is pure, he canned two of them in the second quarter to spur a Blue Jay run. He connected on two clutch free-throws late to help secure the win. What we may have liked best was his baseline drive then dime to George-Towns to beat the third quarter buzzer.
Braden Miller, 6′ G, 2021 (BF)
Yet another solid guard for this sneaky good Blue Jay squad, and the best part for B-F, is that Miller is just a sophomore. He’s got a great hoops IQ for being so young, showed some nice vision and was a play-maker all night for the Jays.
