SG Caleb Donaldson (Bloomington – 2019)
Donaldson is a two guard that transferred in to Bloomington for his senior year and has been outstanding as a two way player with his athleticism and slashing. Donaldson said he has a couple of visits lined up to Emporia State and St. Cloud State. Neither D2 has offered yet, but they are official visits so things are pretty serious. He says St. Cloud State will be on January 19 and isn’t sure the exact date yet with Emporia.
SG Donzell Johnson (Bloomington – 2019)
Johnson is a tough wing from central Illinois who gets after it on the defensive end, slashes, and hits open shots. On the recruiting front he said, “I have Illinois College texting me. Lakeland University in Wisconsin. Lincoln Trail hit me up after Pontiac.” He has taken visits to both Illinois College and Lakeland. What stood out about the trip to Illinois College? “It is a nice campus. I like how it is small and secluded.” He also broke down the Lakeland visit. “I like the coaching staff. They worked with me. I saw their playing style and liked it.”
PG Nate Duckworth (Bloomington – 2019)
Duckworth is a gritty floor general who gets others involved and hits open shots. He told us when it comes to recruiting, “I am just talking to Illinois College right now. The coach is in his first year and his attitude he is trying to change the program around and I really like that.” He has already visited there.
PG Lawrence Brazil (Belleville West – 2019)
This rock steady point guard continues to produce for the Maroons scoring and dishing. He spoke with us about his recruitment saying, “I have interest from Millikin, UMSL, Southern Indiana, McKendree, Kaskaskia has talked to me, and DePauw is supposed to be talking to me soon.” Brazil said Millikin has made him a priority.
SF Will Shumpert (Belleville West – 2019)
Belleville West combo forward Will Shumpert is a strong and physical forward who has made an impact on both ends of the floor as a senior. Shumpert said he holds and offer from South Dakota for football and on the basketball front Southern Indiana is showing interest in him.
PG Shea Cupples (Normal West – 2019)
Cupples played well early in the day. The senior point guard did a nice job of setting his teammates up in both transition and the half court. As for playing at the next level he said, “Illinois College, Lincoln Land, and Eureka are showing interest.”
SF Landon Wolfe (Effingham – 2019)
Wolfe is one of the best senior prospects in southern Illinois. The crafty scoring guard moves well without the ball, shoots it, and scores with toughness in the paint. For recruiting he updated us saying he has interest from “Northwest Missouri State, Tampa, Emporia State I took a visit there, Furman called me, and that is about it.”
SG Isiaih Mosley (Rock Bridge, MO – 2019)
Mosley is the top ranked senior in the PrepHoopsMissouri Rankings. He showed why at Highland putting on a show on scoring the rock. Mosley said on recruiting, “It is going well. I am not in a rush to make a decision right now.” What schools are most involved right now? “Minnesota is pretty tough right now. I heard from Marquette.” He hasn’t taken any official visits at this time.
