According to program director Bill Cartwright, there’s three main priorities each season for his squads.
“(We want to) develop our athlete’s individual skills, get our athletes to the right tournaments that will provide them the exposure they need to get offers to play at the next level, and be ranked No. 1 in the Dakotas at each age group,” said Cartwright.
One of those objectives can be checked off the list already this year. Cartwright’s Attack boys’ teams will be competing in the Hard Work Region of the Prep Hoops Circuit this summer. It’s a move he feels confident will generate exposure and high-level competition for his teams.
“We feel the tournaments Prep Hoops offer are a great fit with our program’s mission and philosophy … high quality and highly competitive!,” said Cartwright. “Prep Hoops also has great coverage of the tournaments, as well as our teams and players, providing them and us with great exposure.”
Matthew MorsThe 17U South Dakota Attack squad will feature Matthew Mors, a 6’7 Yankton power forward with a slew of high-major Division I offers to his name already. He’s just a sophomore right now, and will be playing up a grade level with the 17U unit. Other 17U standouts will be Kobe Busch, who’s receiving D1 and D2 interest, Jack Cartwright, Kayden Verley, Akoi Akoi and Brady Fritz.
On the 16U unit will be standouts Paul Bruns, Michael Paulson, Connor Libis, Xavier Van Beek and Iowa guys Jake Layman and Tanner TeSlaa.
Last, but not least, the 15U squad will feature plenty of young talent of its own, including current eighth-grader Taylen Ashley who will be playing up a grade. Another current eighth-grader, Oliver Vincent will play up wit the 15U unit. Also, Caden Hinker, John Costello, Sam McMillen and Iowa’s Lucas Lorenzen will be guys who could turn some heads this spring and summer.
