Although it is still in the middle of the high school basketball season in Texas, we are already looking ahead to the travel team circuit this spring.  We will be previewing the teams participating in the Prep Hoops Circuit: Grind Region over the next few months.

Today we look at Texas Impact 4:13 who will have 15U, 16U, and 17U teams on the circuit.  This squad will be at the #GrindSzn Kickoff, Mayhem in the Plex, and Grind Region Finals.  They made a name for themselves the last three spring and summer seasons with quality groups that included numerous Division I prospects.

Below is our chat with director T.J. Thomas previewing this upcoming season.

Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?

I started Texas Impact 4:13 in 2012 because I felt this was a way I could not only give back to my community, but build relationships with players, coaches and families that will last a lifetime.

What is the goal of your program for 2019?

The biggest goal for 2019 would be to see growth in our players from start to finish. Not only as basketball players, but as young men.

What is your program’s mission each year?

Each year we want to see our kids start to turn the corner and grow from young teenagers to young men who will be successful in college and life after basketball.

Do you know of any players that will be back in your program this year? Who should we have our eye on?

Jonathan Aku, Jeffrey Mills, and Preston Aymond are all 17u returners, but I feel we have a deep team from players one-to-ten. I expect to see all those kids playing college basketball in the year 2020.

Why did your program choose the Prep Hoops Circuit?

We chose the Prep Hoops Circuit because it gives us the opportunity to be seen. The circuit also provides a good amount of exposure for our players.
