Both teams are in the NCISAA 1A so of course this matchup was important for each squad. The game was pretty close all throughout the first half with Burlington holding a three point lead, in the 2nd half the game would remain close but Burlington would prevail with a 67/57 win.
TBS Senior Guard Heath Gulledge: He is a knock down shooter and it showed throughout the day, he knocked down four treys and finished with 14 points. Moving without the ball and getting his shot off quickly are things that he does well and should help him be able to perform at the college level.
Grace Christian Senior Forward/Center Julian Steinfield: We first saw him last season and he has gotten better over the summer and early season. You can see has been working on some post moves as he put them on display in the 2nd half with 10 of his 12 points coming in the 2nd half.
TBS Sophomore Wing Jadun Michael: One of the better athletes on the floor, he made a few plays above the rim on the offensive and defensive side of the floor. He is a slasher type of player so you don’t see him shot a ton of three but instead he makes his plays in the paint.
Grace Christian Senior PG Nate Yow: He didn’t have one of his better days but showed some flashes of his IQ and play making ability. Some D3 programs have shown interest as of late and rightfully so, he has a high IQ for the game and is a very coachable player that knows how to lead a team.
TBS Guard
Grace Christian Guard Jonah Murr: Was the leading scorer for his squad with 15 points on the night, he can shoot the deep ball at a decent rate and has good form on his shot. We saw him get to the cup on a few occasions but he’s more of a player that looks to score on the perimeter.
TBS Junior Forward Mylyjael Poteat: You can’t weigh his impact on the floor by looking at how many points he scores each game. Instead pay close attention to the impact he makes rebounding the ball and blocking shots, which he does at a very high rate. He is one of those players that you love to have on your team as his defensive ability helps to cover the mistakes that his teammates may possibly make.
