Dallas St. Mark’s visited the Friars of Bishop Lynch for a competitive large private school matchup. Bishop Lynch made some runs throughout the contest. However, St. Mark’s controlled the game for the most part and earn the 61-73 victory over the home team Friars. Both teams will contend for state championships within their leagues come late February.
Andrew Laczkowski is a Division I prospect
Andrew Laczkowski had a great performance from long range in St. Mark’s win. He always caught the ball with his feet set ready to shoot. The junior forward hit five threes from deep off the catch. He has a pretty release on his jumper and has done a great job this season of converting on open opportunities. His efforts earned himself his first Division I offer from San Diego. And with the interest he has been garnering over the past two years, there should be more to come.
Is Harrison Ingram the number one sophomore in Texas?
Four-star point forward Harrison Ingram continues to do everything at a high level. He lets the game come to him and is always looking to make the right decisions with the ball in his hands. His effortless ability to score and get his teammates involved at his own pace helps him in his case for the number one spot in the sophomore class. Ingram finished with 22 points, nine rebounds, and eights assists in the win.
Imo Essien is a top 3 point guard in the DFW for his class
Imo Essien does everything you would out of a point guard offensively. He scored off of high-arching floaters and open looks from outside. Essien’s has labeled himself as one of the best lead guards in the city with his consistent play this season. It will be interesting to see if his scoring and facilitating can get the Friars to Mansfield in late February. The young guard scored a team-high 22 points in the loss.
Other Notes…
- …Freshman guard Noah Shelby was lights out from deep. He has a pretty stroke and does not mind letting it fly when his feet are set. He drilled four three-pointers in the win.
- …Jake Milkereit did not have his best showing, but still came away with 11 points in the loss. The talented guard can really shoot it from the perimeter, but he needs to improve his handle in the open floor. If the athletic swingman can become a reliable secondary ball-handler, look for more schools to enter the picture.
- Colin Smith struggled to get it going last night, but he still has some undeniable tools as a freshman. At 6-foot-7, he has great size and length to go along with steadily improving ball skills. The diaper dandy will turn the corner when he becomes a more consistent perimeter shooter, develops more of a motor, and gains more confidence in his abilities on the court.
