The Bombers are explosive pun intended
Midwest City is known for playing fast and extremely hard. They always have talent but this team is interesting because of their ability to shoot the ball from deep.
JD Ray was on fire but MWC had a couple guys get hot. Kevin Overton is a freshmen who shot the ball well.
No reason it should have taken this long for JD Ray to get offers.
The senior guard is the type of player who shows out at the next level due to his speed, ball handling, and basketball IQ.
There are a multitude of examples of smaller guards having success at all levels of college basketball.
In a ball screen/open floor system, Ray could real havoc on teams at the DII level.
Kevin Overton is next for MWC
Overton is a 6’3 freshmen wing who has fit in quite well for MWC.The lefty is knocking down shots for the Bombers and providing another shooter for JD Ray to use.
It will be fun to continue to watch his development through the years as he grows mentally and physically.
Versatility is one of MWC’s biggest weapons
MWC has athletes all over the floor who can move their feet and anticipate on the defensive end of the floor.
Their full court traps are tough because they have “bigs” who can move their feet and make all the rotations.
Players like Ethan Ganaway and Jacobi Johnson can run around with the guards but also have the muscle to bang down low.
Christian Cook being injured hurts the Bombers chance to reach their potential
I am not aware of the extent of Cook’s injury but with the end of the season coming up it will be a major loss if Cook can’t get healthy before then.
Cook is one of the most talented wings in the state and he takes them to another level.
A fully healthy Bomber’s squad would be a dangerous matchup in the playoffs.
