JV Seat dominated the painted area
Seat scored in the paint in almost every way you could. He benifited from some great drop passes but he also created his own.
The freshmen big man owned the offensive glass. He also killed the Bombers with his drop step to the left handed hook shot which was a consistent weapon.
MWC had no one who could check him.
Sean Pedulla is one of the best shooters in 6A
Pedulla is an outstanding shooter who has a consistent stroke which paid off big in the Bruce Gray Invitational. No matter who was struggling from deep, Pedulla was always the one to step and make a big shot to break the game open.
The sophomore was left open far too many times and he made the defense pay for their defensive lapse of judgement. Memorial is interesting because they have a good group of seniors but they also rely on a talented group of underclassmen as well.
Pedulla is one of their main weapons and so far he has done a great job of running a top 3 ranked team in 6A.
Drew Tennial is a wing in a forwards body
Tennial is one of the best slashers in Oklahoma and one of the reason’s why is his physique. At 6’4, his frame is tough for defenders to stay in front of.
No defender wants to take that charge because they know its going to hurt. There are college power forwards who are not built like Tennial.
Not only is he a great athlete but his IQ is there as well. He like many of the Bulldogs is always thinking strategy and staying vocal on defense.
He is committed to Texas State and with his frame, I wouldn’t be surprised if he contributed from the jump at the next level.
Jacob Thionnet is the best rebounder I have seen this year
If Thionnet doesn’t average at least 10 rebounds a game I would be shocked. Against MWC, the senior forward grabbed the first four rebounds of the game.
He does a great job of anticipating where the ball will come off the rim and he always goes for the board with two hands.
Rebounding is a skill that can be taught to a certain degree but then there are those players who are talented at retrieving the ball after a miss and Thionnet has this gift.
This is the type of year where Ed Memorial can win it
With there not being an unbeatable #1 team in 6A, these are types of years where Memorial can come away with the gold ball.
They have everything you need to win the whole thing. They have star players in Tennial and Thionnet, good guard play in Pedulla, and size down low with Seat. They have shooters around these players to complete an all-around squad.
This season there are a lot of teams that are all on the same level so it wont be easy but Memorial has all the tools to finish with the trophy.
