For the 2018-2019 season they are led by intriguing Canadian 6’7” sophomore forward Oliver-Maxence Prosper. Thanks to our friends at NFHS we were able to dive into the film room to check out their game on Tuesday against Gary Comer which LFA handled with a 56-28 victory. Here is our recap of the prospects in the game in Film Room: Lake Forest Academy!
F Oliver-Maxence Prosper (Lake Forest Academy – 2021)
This sophomore was the main reason we wanted to check this team out. Listed at 6’7” he has good strength and solid length. Mobile getting up and down the floor. He opened the game up with a three from the wing. Was fouled on a bounce pass where he converted one of two at the charity stripe. He went cold for about the next two quarters. Spotty minutes and didn’t seem overly engaged in the game when he was in there. Got three back to back to back offensive rebounds, but missed both shot attempts for points. In the fourth quarter he started to show flashes of why he is considered a potential D1 prospect. Flashed to the mid-post area where he caught a pass and drilled a turnaround jumper. Then connected on a 12 foot baseline jumper. Closed out the game by getting out in transition for several finishes including a rim rattling dunk. We had him for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Definitely needs to be on D1 radars. He has size, skill potential, and mobility as a combo forward.
PF Jake Wolf (Lake Forest Academy – 2021)
Another sophomore put his name on our radar with his play. Wolfe has size at around 6’7” with quality mobility. Excellent area rebounder that gobbled up 11 boards. He also displayed face up shooting knocking down a pair of threes from the wings. Good combination of size, grit, and skill at an early age. Stat line was 8 points and 11 boards.
PG Darius Duff (Lake Forest Academy – 2022)
Duff is a freshman combo guard at 6’2”. Plus athlete who has a burst with the ball. Missed quite a few shots, but has good form. Did connect on a spinning mid-range jumper en route to 4 points.
SG Dane Quest (Lake Forest Academy – 2019)
The top upperclassmen for this group was Quest. At 6’5” he has positional size and an angular build. Slasher that got to the rim on several takes taking quality angles along with aggressive straight line drives. Need to improve his jumper. Good wing defender and was active on the glass. He had 6 points.
PG Bellamy Marcus (Lake Forest Academy – 2019)
This scrappy 5’11” point guard came off the bench bringing energy to the team. Tough kid who pushes in the open floor and attacks the cup.
