When you play well and show consistency, those efforts do not go unnoticed. This article will take a look at players that picked up a lot of buzz in December.
JP Robinson (Deshler): Robinson can make a strong case to be the best point guard in the 2019 class. Through 13 games Robinson is averaging 24-6-5 and 5 steals. Robinson is going to be on a college roster, and don’t be surprised when he has an instant impact.
Chance Beard (Briarwood Christian): Chance does not score 20+ on a nightly basis, and he does not have the sexiest job in basketball. Beard defends, pounds the glass, and cleans up garbage with a relentless motor. The 2020 forward’s toughness and team first attitude stand out the most.
De’Marquiese Miles (Lee-Montgomery): Miles has been very consistent for Lee. He has done an excellent job at controlling tempo and finding open teammates. Miles also shows excellent poise on the court and is a 2020 point guard to watch.
Martavious Payton (Georgiana): Payton is a super athletic forward. The 2020 prospect is one of the most electric athletes in his class. He rebounds at a very high level and has a high motor. Look for Payton to continue leading Georgiana with his high energy play.
Matthew McNeece (McGill-Toolen): McNeese has picked up his play recently. Matthew was the Rock Classic MVP where he averaged 17-8-2 and was one of the best defensive players in the tournament. With his style of play and improved stroke, Matthew will be on someone’s roster.
Sebatian Terry (Lawrence Co): At 6’9, Terry is hard to miss on the court. He has excellent size and strength. Sebatian has been extremely hard to keep off the glass and out of the paint. You can’t teach size, and Terry does things on the court others cannot. Most recently Terry had a 30-20 and 8 block performance.
