With conference play underway, let’s take a look at the 11th- through 15th-leading rebounders in Colorado’s Class 5A.
NOTE: The rebounding leaderboard has changed significantly since we began publishing this list, so there will be several new additions who have moved up in the standings and will be included on this list. Any rebounders who were listed among 5A’s top 10 in our previous lists will be left out.
8. Ricky Poole, 6-0, G, Thornton, 2019, 11.4 rpg
One of only a handful of guards to crack this list, Poole is bringing down over 11 boards per game despite being just six feet tall and weighing 165 pounds. As active as they come, Pool also averages 3.5 assists and 2.4 steals while scoring 15.9 points a night.
12. Isaac Ondekane, 6-8, C, Mullen, 2020, 10.7 rpg
Big and strong, Ondekane has been a force in the paint this winter. He’s averaging 12.1 point to go with his double-digit rebounding average and is shooting 55 percent for the Mustangs.
13. Kenny Foster, 6-5, G, Smoky Hill, 2019, 10.3 rpg
The top-ranked baller in Prep Hoops Colorado’s 2019 player rankings, Foster is doing it all at a high level in 2018-19. He averages 28.1 points, which leads the entire state, 10.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.9 blocks per game.
14. Grant Figueroa, 6-8, F/SG, Rock Canyon, 2019, 10.1 rpg
When he gets it going, Figueroa can put up the points and the rebounding numbers in bunches. Shooting an excellent 56 percent from the field, Figueroa works hard to get to hit spots and get himself high-percentage looks and gets 25 percent of his rebounds at the offensive end.
15. Caleb Davis, 6-6, F, Grand Junction Central, 2019, 8.8 rpg
Just a couple rebounds a night short of averaging a double-double, Davis is a smooth player at 6-foot-6 and plays above the rim with relative ease. He’s also averaging 2.6 assists, so he’s making things happen with the ball in his hands, and gets 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks a night.
