With conference play underway, let’s take a look at the 6th- through 10th-leading rebounders in Colorado’s Class 5A.
6. Zach Harstad, 6-3, C/F, Loveland, 2019, 11.7 rpg
Perhaps a more baseball-centric recruit than a basketball player, Harstad is still averaging nearly a dozen rebounds a night. The multi-sport (basketball, baseball and football) athlete is also scoring 12.3 point a game and shoots over 60 percent from the field.
7. Damian Forrest, 6-8, C/F, Poudre, 2019, 11.7 rpg
What else is there to say about this stock riser? At 6-foot-8 with a 6-11 wingspan, the Colorado Hawks club player is crushing his senior season of high school ball to the tune of 11.7 rebounds and 19.4 points per game. He’s also blocking 2.4 shots and coming up with 1.3 steals, so he’s getting it done at the defensive end of the floor as well.
8. Daniel Carr, 6-9, C, Regis Jesuit, 2019, 11.3 rpg
The 50th-ranked senior on Prep Hoops Colorado’s list, Carr is putting in work this season. Averaging a double-double, the 6-foot-9 Carr (maybe 6-foot-10) also shoots 48 percent from the field and 26 percent from 3-point range. Against St. Mary’s on Dec. 7, Carr paced a 79-71 victory with 28 points and 16 boards.
9. Graham Ike, 6-9, C/PF, Overland, 2020, 11.3 rpg
Overland is CHSAANow.com’s No. 4-ranked team in Class 5A and Ike has plenty to do with that ranking. The left-handed big man has been running the floor for the Trailblazers and has scored in single digits just once in 13 games played. The strong-bodied junior is the 7th-ranked 2020 player on Prep Hoops Colorado’s list and has more than lived up to that billing thus far in 2018-19.
10. Trevor Baskin, 6-6, G/F, Pomona, 2020, 11.0 rpg
Another impressive junior, Baskin comes in at No. 24 on Prep Hoops Colorado’s list of ranked 2020 prospects. His stock has risen even higher since the season started, as he has averaged 15.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.7 blocks, 2.4 steals and 6.0 assists per game through the Panthers’ first 14 contests of the 2018-19 campaign.
