16. Sebastian Acosta, 5-8, G, Strive Prep – SMART, 2019, 4.0 apg
Acosta is having a strong season, even if his team is struggling a bit at 3-12. The senior is averaging 13.0 points, 4.0 assists, 2.2 rebounds and nearly a steal per game. Though he can be a bit turnover prone likely because of the risks he takes to pass aggressively, Acosta is also capable of scoring performances like the 24 points he put up against DSST: Conservatory Green on Nov. 27.
17. Teagan Whiteskunk, 6-0, G, Montezume-Cortez, 2020, 3.9 apg
Whiteskunk is scoring 19.6 points a night but he’s not one-trick pony. He also averages 3.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 steals. If you’re a coach, that type of versatile and unselfish production is exactly what you want out of the classification’s 10th-leading scorer.
18. Ivan Quezada, 5-10, G, Fort Lupton, 2019, 3.9 apg
Quezada got off to a flying start in 2018-19 with a 23-point night against Estes Park in the Blue Devils’ season opener. Since then his scoring has tailed off a bit, but his other numbers have remained consistent. He averages 3.9 assist, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals to go with 7.4 points a night.
19. Dominique Clifford, 6-4, G, The Vanguard School, 2020, 3.9 apg
At 6-foot-4, he’s a handful on the perimeter and when he’s driving the basketball. Clifford averages a double-double with 20 points and 11.6 rebounds, but when the defense collapses on him he knows how to find the open man. His 3.9 assists are almost as big a reason for his team’s 12-2 record as his double-double numbers.
20. Nathaniel Plaisted, 5-8, G, James Irwin, 2019, 3.8 apg
His may be the last name on this particular list but Plaisted is having an outstanding senior season. So far in 2018-19, he’s scoring 21.1 points, which is a top-20 average in 3A, and is also averaging 3.8 assists, 5.8 rebounds and an incredible 4.6 steals per game.
