When you consider the Class AAAA first team it starts with Matthew Hurt of Rochester JM. Hurt leads the state in scoring and is doing everything he can to help his team while new players gain experience. Hurt is scoring 35 points a game shooting high percentages plus grabbing nine rebounds a contest.
Joining Hurt would have to be joined by Dawson Garcia, the 30 point per game scorer of the second ranked team in the state Prior Lake. Speaking of ranked teams, Park Center is the top ranked squad in Minnesota and leading the way is Dain Dainja.
Another guy likely on the top team? Arizona bound Zeke Nnaji. The Royals have lost one game all year and Nnaji scores 23 a game. The final guy in the first group would likely be Tyler Wahl of Lakeville North, another player from a top ten squad.
From there you have to talk about the East Ridge Raptors. With East Ridge the talent on the roster is deep and picking one of them over others is/will be tough. Ben Carlson, Courtney Brown Jr, and Kendall Brown of the Raptors are all 16 a game guys and all do a lot for East Ridge.
Who is else is in the running for a first team/second team spot? Edina’s Jack Middleton. Jack isn’t just a top defender but he is scoring 26 a game. Eden Prairie will be tough to pick from when it comes to all state but the leader has to be guard Drake Dobbs, a junior who just committed to Liberty today.
Looking through the ranked teams (or teams that have been ranked and are close to being top ten) there is also Bennett Otto of Champlin Park, Steven Crowl of Eastview, Cole Nicholson of Chaska, Jacob Beeninga of Wayzata, Antwan Kimmons of Tartan, Jaeden King of CDH, Jeremy Beckler of White Bear Lake, Blake Remme of Spring Lake Park, Tommy Chatman Jr of Park Center, Daveonte Davis of St. Paul Central, and Kerwin Walton of Hopkins. Each of these players has a good shot at being second or third team all state this season.
What about some guys on teams that may not be ranked but are doing well? Guys having great years! That starts with Maleeck Harden of Moorhead who has his team at 6-2. Then you have Cameron Steele of Minnetonka scoring 24.5 a night, Henry Abraham of Cambridge scoring 26 a night, Dajuan Carter of NSP putting up 31 a contest or Gabe Madsen of Mayo producing 30 a contest for a 6-2 team.
