2021 6’4 Will McLendon | Bishop Gorman
There has been a lot of talk from the West Coast about the sophomore guard and the talk is real. I got to see Will for the first time this past weekend and he has a great basketball future ahead of him. He got to the rim and shot the ball phenomenally in Wheeling. He was a major focal point of the Bishop Gorman offense and looks to be recruited by a good amount of high majors schools down the road.
2020 6’3 Noah Taitz | Bishop Gorman
Will’s teammate, Noah, was another major part of the Bishop Gorman offense and a guy that is a high level shooter. He was by far one of the better shooters at the tournament which makes sense as to why Gorman has so many set plays for Taitz to shoot the ball. Look for his recruitment to come down to a variety of schools in the Pac 12.
2019 6’7 Kahlil Whitney | Roselle Catholic
Whenever talking about who was the most productive player on the court, Kahlil Whitney’s name should always be thrown into the debate. He had a monster weekend for Roselle Catholic on both ends of the floor. He has shown an improved jumper which pretty much allows him to score at all levels. His body helps him bring down rebounds on both ends of the floor and he can play good defense too. He is still waiting to sign his LOI to Kentucky in the spring and if all goes planned, we expect Whitney to be one of the most productive players John Calipari has had during his tenure in Lexington.
2019 6’5 Colby Rogers | Roselle Catholic
Some program is going to get a major steal in Colby. Rogers is a great shooter and he showed that skill off all weekend. He is a very smart kid and always does the right thing for his team. He mentioned he is hearing the most from Princeton, Wagner and Boston U.
2019 6’5 Naim Miller | First Love Christian
Mount St. Mary’s found a good one in Miller. Miller is a strong guard that can get to his sports and find his groove quickly. He will be relied on his shooting at the next level and demonstrated he can do that this past weekend. Props to the NEC bunch for snagging the Pittsburgh product.
2019 6’4 Justin Moore | DeMatha
The Villanova commit keeps on playing better and better. On Saturday he finished with 29 points while shooting 13/17 from the field. His pull up jumper has been dominant all year long as he also has the ability to drive and finish at the rim. All signs point to him continuing to put up big numbers this year and certainly be in the discussion to be a McDonald’s All American.
2020 6’6 BJ Boston | Norcross
Boston showed why he is one of the top rated prospects in the 2020 class. The shooting guard has the green light whenever he has the ball in his hands and for good reasoning as he has unlimited range. He moves well off the ball so he can go and get the ball in his hands but can also spot up from anywhere. When talking about who the best scorers are in all of high school basketball, you can’t have that discussion without mentioning BJ. He finished with 20 points in a 3 point loss to DeMatha.
2019 6’2 Kyle Sturdivant | Norcross
The USC commit was on FIRE Saturday and was the reason Norcross had a chance at the end to beat DeMatha. He was unstoppable from the mid range pull up and made those shots look easy. DeMatha was applying heavy pressure on him all game but that was not phasing him at all as he was able to pull up whenever he wanted to. Look for the shooting guard to put up buckets from the Trojans in the coming years in the Pac 12.
