The two region foes battled to a 14-14 after the 1st quarter. The Monarchs started to put it away in the 2nd quarter and headed into halftime with a 42-27 lead.
The Monarchs would be just too much for the hometown Warriors as they cruised to a 81-65 victory. The Monarchs improved to (15-1) on the season while the Warriors fall to (9-6).
MVP : Darius Williams (2019) – Manning HS (pictured on front)
Williams came out on fire all night long for the Monarchs. Williams connected on 6 three pointers and scored 18 points in the win. Williams a running back on the weighs in at 225 pounds and is built like a tank.
Best Offensive Performance: Jordan Louden (2019) – Manning HS
Louden a left-handed guard lacks a true position on the floor. Louden just stuffs the score sheet and stat sheet every night he plays. Louden connected on a few floaters in the lane and seems to play his best basketball at times from 12-14 feet on the floor. Louden finished with 14 points.
Best Defensive Performance: Corey Graham (2021) – Manning HS
Graham has all the pieces to be a special player in the years to come for the Monarchs. Graham is physically mature already for his age. Graham played mostly on the tonight and seems to be at his best when attacking the basket.
Best Guy Under the Radar: Israel Brown (2019) – Manning HS
Brown is a bit of a mystery to me this season. Brown has a good quick shot release. Brown 5’10 seems to best fitted off the ball. Brown scored 16 points in the victory tonight.
Best Prospect : Corey Graham (2021) – Manning HS
Graham will be a name you will hear a lot in the years to come for the Monarchs, Graham also excels on the football field and played wide receiver this past season. Graham could be make the conversion to quarterback next season. Graham 6’3 has great size at the point guard position now and just tends to over power defenders with his size.
Best Junior : Carrele Cooper (2020) – Waccamaw HS
Cooper has been the most consistent player all season long for the Warriors. Cooper 6’2 guard hit a few baseline jumpers tonight on his way to 15 points in the loss. Cooper still must get stronger and tighten up his ball handling
Best Player off the Bench : Xavier Hicks (2020) – Manning HS
Hicks was a great spark off the bench for the Monarchs and finished with 15 points. Hicks 5’9 just swarmed the ball night long and was always in the right place on the floor.
