Arlington Oakridge and ESD both have something in common and that’s their youth. On Wednesday night, I was able to see the the two young talented teams up close in personal. Oakridge came out and really played with good energy and intensity versus ESD. At the half, Oakridge took a 33-25 lead over the Eagles and never gave up the lead. The Owls won the game 65-50.
Player Breakdown
Dexter Roper / 6’1” / Guard / 2020
Roper is an athletic ball handler that likes to push the rock and make things happen with the ball in his hands. He needs to improve his decision making and simplifying the game to help him limit turnovers. Roper finished with 14 points in the win over ESD.
Rytis Petraitis / 6’3” / Guard / Arlington Oakridge / 2021
Petraitis is a 2 guard that can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end. Petraitis displayed that he can shoot, handle the rock and facilitate. He is also fast with the ball and knows how to blow by defenders that play him too tight.
Colby Henderson / 6’1” / PG / ESD / 2022
Henderson is a talented point guard that can get buckets off the bounce or create for others. Henderson is an efficient scorer, that is able to score on all three levels on the floor. He finished with a game high 16 points against Arlington Oakridge .
Chase Kennedy / 6’3” / Combo / ESD / 2022
Kennedy is a good slasher, that has a strong frame to go a long with elite athleticism which he displayed when he went up for rebounds and attacked the rim.
Cooper Macaulay / 6’3″/ SG / ESD / 2022
Macaulay has great form and can knock down multiple threes when he’s squared up. Macaulay hit three threes and finished with double digits in defeat.
